Zysman Shmulik

Founder and Managing Partner

Adv. Shmulik Zysman is one of the founders of the international law firm ZAG-S&W.

 

As one of Israel’s foremost commercial lawyers, Mr. Zysman is an expert in the fields of hi-tech, internet, life science, commercial and capital markets law, in addition to international transactions, communications, and real estate law.

 

Mr. Zysman specializes in the legal and corporate accompaniment of technology companies in all stages: from pre-seed stages through their growth, as well as with IPO`s and mergers or acquisition.

 

Mr. Zysman has a vast network of connections, representing leading private and institutional investors on the domestic and international fronts.

 

Mr. Zysman follows in the footsteps of his father, the late Shalom Zysman, a former Member of the Knesset on behalf of the General Zionist Party (second parliament). The late Mr. Zysman was also Deputy Mayor of Ramat Gan and served as Chairman of Maccabi Israel and of the Israeli Olympic Committee.

 

Mr. Zysman is one of Israel’s Hall of Fame basketball players. A former captain of the national youth team and Israel’s cadets, he was a prominent player in the Israeli Premier league for 17 years, and played on the Israeli National Team. As a player for Maccabi Tel Aviv, he helped win the Euroleague Cup in 1981, when Maccabi won all possible titles, including the International Cup. Shmulik is the founder and former head of the Israeli National Basketball Players’ Union, and was responsible for initiation and planning of the amendment to the Israeli Sports Law. He served as the manager of the Israeli Competitive Sports Administration.

 

Organizational Affiliations and Public Service

 

Mr. Zysman has been active as legal counselor and a member of various public committees.

 

He has served as a legal counselor and member of two parliamentary committees, dedicated to the privatization and the transition to a dynamic and free market.

 

The Peled Committee - he has served counsel to the committee, whose goal was to examine the media and communications market and to create an “open skies” principle.

 

The Ronen Committee - he has served counsel to the committee that examined the reforms in government owned properties. This committee’s recommendations were extremely influential on the Israeli market.

 

He was a member of the professional committee investigating the train crash tragedy at the Bet Yehoshua junction.

 

He serves as an arbitrator at The Israeli Institute of Commercial Arbitration since its establishment in 1991.

 

He also serves as Chairman of the Global Maccabi Movement’s Honorary Court, and is among the trustees of Tel Aviv University’s Faculty of Law.

 

Voluntary Work

 

Mr. Zysman is an active volunteer in many community-oriented and not for profit organizations.

Mr. Zysman is the founder and chairman of the Israeli Center for Rett Syndrome (“Silent Angel”). The center helps those who suffer from the syndrome and lends support to their families as well as conducting clinical trials to find a cure for the syndrome.

 

Mr. Zysman is Chairman of the Board of the International Friends of Maccabi Association, and a member of the Friends of the Ezra Lemarpeh Association (of Rabbi Firer`s foundation). Mr. Zysman originated and founded “Lev Ohev”, an association helping children with special needs.

 

In 2012, Mr. Zysman was handed an honorary mark for his work and contribution to the community, by the “Lions” organization, one of the largest voluntary organizations in the world.
